Dr. Sophie North

Lecturer in Health Sciences | University of East Anglia (UK)

Dr. Sophie North left working in clinical medicine in 2011 to co-found a therapeutic retreat organisation for refugees. Over the last decade Sophie has been co-delivering training for healthcare students on forced migration and health, always ensuring that those with lived experiences are central to this. Sophie is currently the academic lead for the university of sanctuary initiative at the University of East Anglia (UEA). This initiative is exploring how sanctuary student led participatory art and cultural projects can form a key component to holistic sanctuary scholar wellbeing support.
