Natasha Nixon
Director, Performance Practitioner (UK)
Natasha Nixon is an international theatre director and performance practitioner who makes cross disciplinary work for non-traditional theatre going audiences. Her practice often explores themes around cultural identity and the notion of outsiders. She attempts to push the limits of performance with an absurdist tone regarded as “stylishly bizarre” (Timeout) and “refreshingly inventive” (The Stage). She has extensive experience in the industry including work at The National Theatre and on Olivier Award shows and was the recent recipient of The Arts Council England Transforming Leadership Grant. Previous projects include an experimental dance theatre show exploring trauma (Jerwood Award), a queer adaptation of ‘Macbeth’ with writer Moira Buffini (West End), circus, new writing and mask projects in Germany, Holland and Italy, and an immersive clown dance show for children with sensory and special educational needs and disabilities (Young Vic).
